FAQ

How do I raise Depot Ambient Temperature?
Repair multiple Service Warmers. There is no single master control; the percentage rises in stages until the final warmer reaches 100%.
Where do Light Bulbs come from?
Use interactable lamp assemblies. Approach the fitting, unscrew the clamp, and take the bulb instead of smashing random lights.
How do I start the Foreman calibration?
Discharge the Foreman first, using the chicken interaction documented in the launch build, then complete the test and press Confirm after choosing an answer.
Is 78% the end of the heating route?
No. Continue following Service Warmer markers until Ambient Temperature reaches 100% and the objective shifts back toward the antenna route.

How do you know you have reached the Depot?

Follow New Coordinates after completing the late Outskirts antenna objective. The correct destination is confirmed when the map displays DEPOT.

From this point, stop searching the starting station for another mandatory antenna repair. The new regional problem is Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%. If New Coordinates never appeared, return to the antenna debris guide.

How do Service Warmers raise Ambient Temperature?

There is no single master switch. Repairing individual Service Warmers increases the objective in stages. A documented launch route progressed through 17% → 34% → 61% → 78% → 100%.

Some warmers also melt nearby ice and expose a passage. After each repair:

  1. check the new temperature percentage;
  2. inspect the ice and structures around the machine;
  3. pin the next Service Warmer;
  4. compare the visible marker distances;
  5. take the nearest practical route.

This is more reliable than directions such as “left of the asteroid,” which lose meaning after rotating through a three-dimensional wreck.

Which materials should you carry?

One documented Service Warmer requires:

MaterialAmount
Metal4
Light Bulb1
Wires4
Electronics2

Read the interaction before leaving the machine. A single Light Bulb or several Wires can cause more backtracking than the larger Metal requirement.

Light Bulbs come from interactable lamp assemblies: approach the fitting, unscrew the clamp, then collect the bulb. Wires are more predictable around electrical panels, consoles, and exposed wiring. The resources and materials guide covers the full recognition table.

Why should you repair the closest warmer first?

The closest practical warmer creates a new heated foothold, increases the percentage, and may open a shorter passage toward a farther marker. It therefore improves both safety and navigation.

Working heaters remain useful after the repair. If the suit is damaged or frostbite warnings escalate, move through the known heated route instead of attempting a long direct crossing. Review the cold protection guide before entering the deeper Depot.

Oxygen remains a separate limit. Use the oxygen guide to plan nests or portable refills rather than assuming warm air is breathable air.

How do you solve the Foreman?

The Foreman does not begin with an ordinary repair prompt. Discharge the Foreman first; the launch route uses the chicken interaction here.

After discharge, continue into calibration. Select an answer and press Confirm. If the questions appear stuck, check the confirmation action before assuming the test or NPC is broken.

The Foreman is useful side progress while the heating route already has you nearby, but calibration does not replace the Ambient Temperature objective.

Is Small Engine research required?

No. Study Small Engines when the required parts are already available and the detour is small. Completing the research eventually unlocks the Booster, but the Depot can be finished without waiting for that movement option.

Protect Service Warmer materials first. Research that consumes the last needed component can turn a convenient pickup into another cold supply run.

What ends the Depot heating route?

Continue following the remaining fire markers after 78%. The route ends when the final Service Warmer pushes Ambient Temperature to 100% and the story direction returns to Find a way to the antenna.

Optional materials, research, and side work may remain in the Depot. The heating problem is complete. Return to the Chapter 1 walkthrough for the jammer sequence.
