Reduce the crowded journal to three progression stages:
- Station Outskirts: power the crashed train, stabilize survival, and restore communications.
- Depot: cross the 100 Cold Protection gate and raise Ambient Temperature to 100% through Service Warmers.
- Jammer route: record three strong readings, enter the facility, use the shuttle, and retrieve the signal jammer.
Side quests do not need to disappear before the story moves. Pin the objective that changes the region or restores communications, then return to optional work when the route naturally passes it.
Stage 1: power the crashed train
Treat the damaged train as the opening base. Follow its external wiring to the External Module, install the battery, then return and continue the train sequence. Raising the pantograph restores power and begins thawing systems around the station.
Before chasing distant markers:
- make food and water dependable;
- craft the first useful tool;
- keep Electronics, Wires, and Electrical Tape for required repairs;
- use the train for storage, crafting, and recovery.
The Station Outskirts walkthrough covers the opening sequence, ticket booth, and early survival infrastructure in more detail.
Stage 2: follow communications through the Outskirts
Return to the interphone and communication objectives whenever the journal becomes noisy. The chain moves through the damaged antenna, homemade beacon, and old government probe before the late Collect Antenna Debris 0/2 objective.
The Attendant sits close to this route, but the missing arm can take longer to find than the main-story benefit justifies. Complete her when convenient; do not stop all progression for one tiny optional part. Use the Attendant parts guide if that search is blocking you.
When the journal asks for Raise Cold Protection to 100, return to the train wardrobe. Crossing 100 is the route gate; farming a maximum early suit is not required. The exact equipment logic is in the cold protection guide.
Complete both antenna-debris pieces. New Coordinates Detected confirms that this communications stage is finished.
Stage 3: reach the Depot and raise Ambient Temperature
Follow New Coordinates until the map identifies DEPOT. The main regional objective becomes Raise Ambient Temperature to 100%.
Repair Service Warmers in reachable order. Each completed warmer raises the percentage, creates another heated position, and may melt ice that exposes the next route. Check what changed around the repaired machine before flying toward the farthest marker.
Keep Metal, Light Bulbs, Wires, and Electronics available. One documented warmer requires 4 Metal, 1 Light Bulb, 4 Wires, and 2 Electronics, but exact requirements can vary by machine and future patch.
The Depot also contains the Foreman and Small Engine research. Handle them when they are already on the route, but do not confuse either with completion of the heating objective. The Depot walkthrough contains the focused sequence.
Stage 4: return to the antenna route and follow the cryogel
After the final Service Warmer, the story returns to Find a way to the antenna. This is not unfinished Outskirts work. Follow the newer route through the cold structures and the robots moving through the cryogel.
Optional research can wait unless the required materials are already in the inventory. The main objective eventually reveals that the communication signal is being jammed.
Stage 5: record three strong jamming readings
One strong reading is not enough. Keep following the directional interference until the game records three distinct strong points:
- the first confirms the search method;
- the second narrows the source;
- the third completes the reverse-vector triangulation.
After the third reading, the game reveals the jammer facility. Prepare for a longer route: restore oxygen, carry a portable refill, and repair essential protection before leaving. The oxygen guide covers refill choices.
Stage 6: enter the jammer facility
Restore the external power connection and continue through the entrance system. The story provides the necessary access information after communications are working; there is no need to search the outer hull for a hidden handwritten code.
Gravity returns inside. The Camerabot belongs to the progression sequence rather than functioning as an ordinary enemy. Continue with the repair-crew interaction and collect supplies already on the path.
The route later involves Sprayron, a missing head, a profile update, and the airlock. If one Sprayron interaction appears above your level, continue the surrounding sequence instead of assuming the whole facility is hard-locked behind an immediate upgrade.
Stage 7: fill the shuttle with alkaline solution
The objective chain becomes explicit:
Find the signal jammer → Fill the shuttle with alkaline solution → Retrieve the jammer
Use Sprayron on the creatures around the marked burrows and collect the alkaline material. Return to the shuttle, open its tank cap, and fill the system. Once the required amount is complete, stop clearing unrelated caves and continue the main objective.
Stage 8: cooling system, airlock, and jammer retrieval
Start the cooling system from its control panel. The pump-out sequence also locks the airlock, so complete the newly added manual airlock reactivation before moving deeper.
Clear the final parasite sequence until the affected host exposes the signal jammer. After retrieving it, complete the circular-sensor interaction: wait for the reading to stabilize and turn green, then strike it with the crowbar.
The final transmission reaches the current Chapter 1 Early Access ending. There is no hidden Chapter 2 main route behind another Depot repair. Remaining markers can still be completed for rewards, research, materials, or achievements.
